Angie: A Journalist Girl With a Marketing Bent
From early on, Angie’s dream had always been to work in a big-city ad agency. However, God had done so much in her life through her college involvement with Campus Crusade for Christ at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln that she was considering joining its staff.
Her wise mom said, “Who better to advertise for than God?”
Angie was sold.
A decade later, she’s employing her journalism degree in a way she couldn’t have dreamed about. She works in the corporate communications office and works to help the 8,000 American missionaries find what they need in one place online. A place where they can get their hands on evangelism ideas, contact numbers, communication from our leaders, stories from around the globe, reminders of upcoming events and all the while exposing them to things they didn’t even know existed.
Scott: A Restless Computer Guy
“This can’t be all there is to the Christian life. I stink at trying to run my own life. Lord, just tell me what to do or do it for me. Please, God?”
That was Scott in 2006, three years after saying yes to Jesus. He was working a corporate job at a wireless internet provider. He’d always had this nagging feeling that he wasn’t doing what he was meant to do.
Scott had no idea what God had in store for him.
Six months later, Scott met Angie. As they dated she began to tell him about her life as a missionary. He was intrigued when she said that the World Headquarters, where she worked, had a great need for people with computer skills like him.
He met with the IT (Information Technology) team and, in November 2007, felt God move in his heart to join as a missionary, too.
Like Angie, Scott gets to serve behind-the-scenes, in a role that helps serve Campus Crusade staff members around the world. Missionaries’ computers and printers and networks need attention, too, and Scott loves to help them and free up their time so that they can focus on the role God has called them to.

The Bentleys
Not your stereotypical missionaries, Scott and Angie work at the World Headquarters for Campus Crusade in Orlando.
As is true with most companies, it takes a group of people working behind the scenes to accomplish the mission. In a similar way, The Bentleys’ ministry is about helping change lives by supporting the work of Campus Crusade’s 25,000 missionaries around the world.
Scott and Angie are honored that God has asked them to serve Him with Campus Crusade by just being who they are: a computer guy and a journalist girl.
